ConfusedI have a scorecard spreadsheet and need to pull data into various classifications.  For example by performance by national level, regional level,  state level, by broker, highest revenue, highest sold groups, etc.  What is the best way to format the spreadsheet.  I was thinking pivot tables by I am not too familiar with them.

Pivot tables are the most powerful way to view and calculate data by classification. Simply select the entire data and choose to create a pivot table.  The column headings can then be used to view at page level, row and column with totals and sub totals.

Alternatively, calculation can also be made on the data itself using formulas such as SUMIF and COUNTIF to calculate totals and percentages based on criteria.

To format the spreadsheet for any of these options, make sure that the column headings are meaningful and the content within the table is consistent with no misspells.
