ConfusedI am having problems with the Portfolio Optimization tool....I can enter my current portfolio fine, however when I try and optimize it, it does not create the "optimal portfolio" pie graph, or perform the analytics.  Am i entering the data wrong?  Please advise

It could be that the minimum and maximum constraints and maintain return level are set so that the optimal portfolio cannot be created from the current one. Try removing these and running the optimization.  If you land on the CoVar sheet then the option has been selected to modify the matrix and you will need to click to optimize again from there.

If the status bar at the bottom shows the process stages working then the program is running.  If not, then there is still an issue with the macro settings.

Hello there, please note that we changed the Macro setting in the trust center - and it's still not Optimizing our portfolio.  It's not giving us new suggested weightings or a pie graph.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

In this case you need to set your macro security settings to Medium. You can do this by opening a blank workbook and choosing: Excel 97-2003: Tools >> Options >> Security >> Macro Security, and selecting the 'Medium' level.
Excel 2007: Click on the top left ribbon button and choose Excel Options >> Trust Center >> Trust Center Settings... >> Macro Settings and select 'Disable all macros with notification'.
Excel 2010: File >> Options >> Trust Center >> Trust Center Settings... >> Macro Settings and select 'Disable all macros with notification'.
Upon restarting Excel you should now be presented with the option to enable macros on opening the template file.
