Using List Of Options To Present Information Graphically

ConfusedGood day, I am a newbie on representing information graphically in Excel and any assistance re the following will be highly appreciated. I have two companies, each with different Job Titles (Column A) linked to a numerical Job Level (Column B)and different Sectors (Column C) that employees fall under e.g. An HR Manager will fall under Management, an Accountant under Finance etc. I need to find a way to graphically show (by a marker for each Job Title) at what level each Job Title lies in the 2 companies. In short, I need to present to a panel of people and want to be able to choose a specific sector/s and or a Job Level where they will then see a graph with all the Job Titles and on which Job Levels these are. It will thus be easy to identify where an IT Manager at company A is on Job Level 15 and at company B the IT Manager is on Job Level 12. By choosing only a specific Job Level they will be able to see all the Job Titles at that Job Level. As there are too many Job Titles one graph will not do and we need to see the different Sectors, be able to identify the company and see at what Job Level each Job Title is. I hope this makes sense. I will forward an example of the information if required. Your assistance is much appreciated. Regards, R

There are several options for this. The easiest and most powerful would be to create a pivot table report of your data and accompanying pivot chart. In this case, you place the Job level at the page level filter and the Job titles and sectors in the row and column (either way depending on the analysis). The values can be set to count or if you have other numerical data then accordingly. Once the data is arranged appropriately, you can create a pivot chart from this. It will allow choosing of the Job level or sector (in the same way the pivot table has been set up).

Alternatively you could use some type of filtering on the data can apply the filter to the chart(s) source data; however making this dynamic may require some VBA code.
